Indeed Sufism has spread in Islamic countries and Shaykh Muhammad b. Jamil Zeno has lived amongst them for a long time. He has sat in various Sufi meetings and spoken about them in his books.

The reason he mentioned about Sufism in his books was in order for the people to know the reality of the Sufis and for them to become fully aware of it. In this beneficial book he has included additional important research and new topics that are affiliated with Sufism, so that the reader is aware of the anomalies within Sufism.

Imam Shafi’i had said many things about them such as his statement for example,

“If a man becomes a Sufi at the beginning of the day, noon would not come until he becomes a fool.”

(Kitab al-Manaqib vol.2 p.207)

Ibn ul-Qayim said,

“How good is what Abu Ahmad ash-Shayrazi said: ‘The Sufis used to ridicule Shaytan and now the Shaytan ridicules them!’”
